Picture shows Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the film Titanic. One of my most liked pieces.

well ive been drawing for years and when i started drawing my art was similar to yours. now im old lol. Thanks for the comment
I always have problems with the light-dark ranges in hair. How did you show the highlights?
i do the main colourations from view with a range of toning pencils such as 6B, but i also use an artists putty rubber which can be moulded into the right shape you need to do highlights. I always think a rubber is useful as a drawing impliment and not just an eraser. Try at a local art shop they usually sell them, and good luck with your own work.
